A three day Computation Biology Workshop concluded at NABI

A three day “Computational Biology Workshop” at NABI concluded with a valedictory function on 14th March, 2018. Around 50 leading experts, scholars and researchers from various scientific institutes of India attended this workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. T.R Sharma, Executive Director, NABI emphasized on the growing need of computational biology to handle exponential growth of biological data. He also extended his heartiest congratulations to participants who had visited from all over India to attend this first of its kind workshop at NABI.
Reminiscing the early decades of research in India, Chief Guest Dr. Debi P. Sarkar, Director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, IISER, Mohali; shared that the amount of time it used to take to complete basic biological experiments has been reduced immensely as a result of introduction of information technology to biology. He emphasized that the golden period of science is now and young scholars should delve into new technologies which increase research output.
The workshop came to a successful close with vote of thanks by Sh. Shrikant Mantri, coordinator of the workshop.
